No Matter What

You can hate me. You can curse me. You can blame me all day long.

You can do your best to teach me that I’m awful and I’m wrong.

I will love you no matter what, no matter who, no matter why.

You can pretend I do not love you, but your soul knows that’s a lie.

I will love you no matter what, no matter when, no matter where.

In your darkness of separation, in your pain, I love you there.

You can shun me. You can shame me. You can hurt yourself to show

You do not need me. You do not care, and you wanted me to know.

I will love you no matter what, no matter why, no matter who.

I will love you plain and simple no matter what you say or do.

I will love you no matter what, no matter where, no matter when.

I will love you through illusion. I love you now. Believe. Amen.
