From Where You Stand

If, from where you stand, the trees aren’t lush and green,

Step forward as you must to paint a different scene.

Knowing it’s all relative will always help you find

Gifts of grace and gratitude, gifts of peace of mind.

If, from where you stand, you fear you won’t get through,

Step backward as you must to gain a different view.

Knowing it’s all relative will always help you find

Blessings all around you, thanks of many kind.

If, from where you stand, the sky looks dark and gray,

Step sideways as you must until it clears away.

Knowing it’s all relative will always help you find

Perspective that’s been lost, misplaced or left behind.
