Set It Free

Attachments to the old, to the past, and yesteryear,

Proclaim that you’re not ready, still attached to doubt and fear.

If you’re ready for a change, if you’re ready for the new,

Then take a leap of faith and this is what you do:

Start with your surroundings. Clear the clutter and disarray.

Clarity moves in when the disorder goes away.

Less is more. Cut a tie. Joy seeps in when you simplify.

Set it free. Let it go. That is your spirit, don’t you know.

Attachments to the old, to the past, and yesteryear,

Proclaim that you’re not ready, still attached to doubt and fear.

If you’re ready for a change, if you’re ready for the new,

Then take a leap of faith and this is what you do:

Start with your belongings, that in truth no longer serve.

Hold them. Bless them. Thank them. Give the send-off they deserve.

Less is more. Cut a tie. Joy seeps in when you simplify.

Set it free. Let it go. That is your spirit, don’t you know.
