Today I renew my commitment, the one I made before;
That commitment to my higher self, the part that says “no more.”
That something deep inside me that knows what’s right and wrong;
The part that says, “It’s time to change. You’ve been here way too long.”
I’m willing to want what God wants. It’s time that we connect.
I’m beginning to feel worthy, and empowered with self respect.
I will not be held back. My spirit shall be free.
Instead of embracing addiction, I pledge to reach for me.
Today I renew my commitment. I’m stepping past the fear.
I’m summoning up my inner strength and watching it appear.
My strength will address the issues and expose them to my soul.
Together they will start to heal what caused that void, that hole.
That hole that began my pain and set my heart astray;
That hole that made me lose self-love and put me in harm’s way.
I will not be held back. My spirit shall be free.
Instead of embracing addiction, I pledge to reach for me.
Today I renew my commitment, that vow to do my best.
I forgive myself and others. I trust. I pray. I rest.
I made it to this point and I acknowledge my old “friend.”
Though it’s hard to say good-bye, it’s a relationship I must end.
My success will be contingent on my courage to release
All my negative relationships and friendships that must cease.
I will not be held back. My spirit shall be free.
Instead of embracing addiction, I pledge to reach for me.
