A Lasting Lullaby

You will always be my baby and that’s the reason why

I sing this loving song to you, a lasting lullaby.

A tune that will last a lifetime, whatever age you are,

I’ll always help you rest and sleep. I’m never very far.

You will always be my baby and child, you must know.

Your heart will hear my loving voice no matter where you go.

I’ll sing it through your worries and I’ll sing it through your pain.

And when my body leaves this earth my love will still remain.

You will always be my baby. In my arms you will always be

Protected, safe, secure, and loved unconditionally.

So when you are all grown up and trouble may haunt your dreams,

Know I’m softly whispering, “It’s never as bad as it seems.”

You will always be my baby and that’s the reason why

I sing this loving song to you, a lasting lullaby.
