Our stories will all be different and yet they’ll be the same.
We’ll question all the suffering and wonder whom to blame.
We’ll tell You tales of sadness and how we couldn’t cope.
We’ll tell You it was just too much and how we lost our hope.
We’ll want to know the reasons. We’ll each be asking why?
Why did You let it happen? Why did You just stand by?
You’ll listen to our questions with a sympathetic ear.
You’ll put your hand in our hand and gently pull us near.
You’ll answer all our questions in much the same old way.
It is then that we will understand and hear the words you say.
“What good did you make? What roads did you take?
What good did you make for mankind’s sake?”
You’ll wrap Your love around us and then we will be free
From all the pain and heartache that didn’t let us be.
It may not be the answer we each expected to hear,
But in Your love and light it will all become quite clear.
“What good did you make? What roads did you take?
What good did you make for mankind’s sake?”
