Take My Hand

I know you just can’t take it anymore, but please take my hand.

It’s always been within your reach. I hope you understand.

You told yourself along the way, “I don’t need another soul.”

It’s time to face your defenses and select another role.

I’m here for you. I’ve always been. I promise not to leave.

You’ve got the giving part down but you must learn to receive.

Your old ways are not working and it’s time to readjust.

A joyous life awaits you. Have faith. Believe and trust.

I cannot force myself on you, to help, to heal, to mend.

I can only extend my hand to you and say, “I love you friend.”
