New Year

I want this page to end…no more, God…please, no more.

New year, new chance for change… good things are yet in store.

Help me fight this weakness. Help me to be strong.

Lead me past this hurdle that has blocked my way so long.

I know I’ve called before, asking for your aid…

Still not yet quite ready for which I’ve dearly paid.

Don’t know if this is different but perhaps it just might be.

This just may be the time I decide to be set free.

At first, just baby steps, steadied by your hand…

In time, a stable walk... then running in the sand.

Heighten my awareness so I do not fall back down.

Help me break this cycle that goes round and round and round.
