Ashes To Ashes

Updated: Jan 9, 2023

Maybe a symbolic funeral? How long will you choose to grieve?

That relationship? That expectation? That dream that had to leave?

An urn is not required, just a willingness to let go

Of illusion that keeps death alive, along with the pain in tow.

“Ashes to ashes.” Don your black. Turn to God. Let Him dry your eyes.

“Dust to Dust.” It’s okay to free yourself and say your goodbyes.

Maybe a symbolic eulogy? How long will you choose to grieve?

Holding on to what is lost will never serve, heal, or relieve.

A coffin is not required, just a willingness to release

What is gone and already buried, denying joy and peace.

“Ashes to ashes.” Don your black. Turn to God. Let Him dry your eyes.

“Dust to Dust.” It’s okay to free yourself and say your goodbyes.
