Sometimes we wait a “lifetime” for what others have had from the start;
The lack of which makes us feel different and clearly sets us apart.
We think we’ll never get it because it’s eluded us so long.
We conclude it is our fate in life but we couldn’t be more wrong.
Some things are just too special to be casually supplied.
It doesn’t mean our prayers have gone unheard or been denied.
Some things are just too big, too grand, too great, …sublime.
Their value must be realized through heartache, pain, and time.
Through time, God sends a message: “I chose this just for you.
Do not take this gift for granted. It is sacred, blessed, and true.”
“It requires something extra. It will take a little more.
Please know that you can handle this and it’s well worth waiting for.”
Through time, God teaches gratitude and when the gift appears,
We’ll truly understand the wait and appreciate our tears.
We think we’ll never get it because it’s eluded us so long.
We conclude it is our fate in life but we couldn’t be more wrong.
