NOT OUR ROAD
It’s hard to watch a loved one turn right when they should go left Leading them down a perilous path confused and bereft.
We try to redirect them with all our love and force Hoping it will be enough to change their downward course.
We can’t control another no matter how we try The only ones we’re responsible for are “me, myself, and I.”
It’s not our road. They’re not our shoes. They’re not our turns to pick and choose. It’s not our road. They’re not our shoes. It’s not our way to find or lose.
It’s tough when they won’t listen to what we have to say, Like “Stop. Please turn around now. You’re going the wrong way.”
There has to come a point when we finally come to know We can lead a horse to water but in the end we must let go.
We can’t control another no matter how we try. The only ones we’re responsible for are “me, myself, and I.”
It’s not our road. They’re not our shoes. They’re not our turns to pick and choose. It’s not our road. They’re not our shoes. It’s not our way to find or lose.
Letting go doesn’t mean we stop caring, in that we’ll never cease. Letting go unburdens our souls so we can care from a place of peace.
There has to come a time when we set our spirits free From that false sense of control and trust the “Powers that Be.”
We can’t control another no matter how we try. The only ones we’re responsible for are “me, myself, and I.”
It’s not our road. They’re not our shoes. They’re not our turns to pick and choose. It’s not our road. They’re not our shoes. It’s not our way to find or lose.
